10 Highly Questionable Actions Committed By Jack Sparrow

6. He Offers To Deliver 99 Souls To Davy Jones

Davy Jones is no easy man to fool, and knows Jack is waiting aboard the Pearl, watching the conversation he has with Will. As tempted as he is to take Will up on his offer to stand in for Jack, he's not one to let someone out of their debt so easily.
Jack: "You already have my payment. One soul to serve on your ship is already over there." Davy Jones: "One soul is not equal to another." Jack: "A-ha! So, we've established my proposal as sound in principle. Now we're just haggling over price."
After some negotiating Jones decides that Jack's soul alone is worth that of 100 souls. Since he's already given him Will, that just leaves 99 souls to go, which Jones gives him three days to collect. It sounds pretty terrible to trade the souls of 100 people (including one of your friends) in order to save yourself, but Jack agrees, and even tries going to Tortuga to find 99 saps to hand over to Jones.
