5. He Doesn't Tell Elizabeth What Happened To Will
Jack has a way with shifting blame, and does so when he comes across Elizabeth in Tortuga. When she asks about Will, he decides not to tell her that he offered him up as payment to Davy Jones, and instead does what he does best: he lies.
"Darling, I am truly unhappy to have to tell you this, but through an unfortunate and entirely unforseable series of circumstances that had nothing whatsoever to do with me, poor Will has been pass-ganged into Davy Jones' crew."
You can't really blame the guy for not telling her the truth about her fiance, but he does so in order to get her onto the Pearl so that she can use his compass (which isn't working for him) to lead them to Jones. Once again, a very crafty fellow, that Jack Sparrow...
