5. Keith Lemon: The Movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zUyhbwrzEQ Many British television series have attempted to make the leap from small to silver screen, often with disastrous results. Unsurprisingly, Keith Lemon: The Movie is one of those flops. With this in mind, a large number of 5 Live listeners got in touch with Kermode to encourage him to watch the film in the hope that it would result in a furious review. The first sign of the oncoming rant is the long silence after the clip has finished playing. This is the ultimate, 'I'm not cross, I'm just very disappointed' review. Kermode's irritation at the film means much of the review centres on how he relieved his boredom whilst watching it. This involves a story about a dropping a five pence coin and the twenty minutes spent trying to retrieve it from the side of his chair. He recalls the dirt and gunk down the side almost sentimentally, declaring that it was 'less revolting than watching the screen.'
