10 Hilarious Movies Nobody Expected To Laugh At

8. Cube (1997)

Battlefield Earth
Trimark

1997’s Cube is a master class in bad horror/sci-fi movie making. Its premise is interesting enough, but its acting is comical-at-best and its special effects will leave you in stitches. Even its opening scene sees a man torn to shreds by razor wire and falling apart into a series of fleshy cubes (subtle.)

The story is based around five strangers who find themselves inside a massive cube, made of near-identical, cube-shaped rooms. None of them know how they got there, nor do they know how to get out.

The rag-tag group soon discover that certain rooms are death traps and must be avoided. This results in the death of many stylish shoes, as they begin to toss boots into each room in to test them for traps. As the film continues and the party size dwindles, they work out that the rooms’ numbers suggest whether or not they’re trapped and they begin to work their way to an escape.

Whether it’s one character’s terrible Rain Man impression, a white woman non-ironically calling the only ethnic minority character a Nazi, or the numerous terrible CGI death traps, this blatant inspiration for Saw 2 has something for everyone to enjoy.
