6. Planet Of The Apes
In terms of composition, this cover isn't bad at all, and some might not have all that much of a problem with it, but they're forgetting the golden rule of DVD art, the one cardinal sin that cannot be committed - don't spoil the movie you're trying to get people to see! Granted, anyone who hasn't seen Planet of the Apes - apparently such people still exist - won't be aware that it's ruining the film, but it's a crass practice nevertheless. Though the twist is extremely well-known by even those who've not seen it, it potentially deprives people of a grandly iconic cinematic moment, when there are countless other stills from the film that would be just as effective. Imagine if the posters during the film's original release had shown this image - there would have been an outrage!
