10 Horrific Movie Deaths That Had To Be Cut Out

Ace Ventura doesn’t sound like a prime candidate for having a controversial death, but the original cut featured a scene the director considered way too dark for a wacky comedy.

A scene was shot where Ace stops at a gas station to ask for directions, where he interrupts the lonely attendant putting a shotgun in his mouth. Ace leaves the crying man alone after getting the info he needs, but when he returns later to make a call he sees an ambulance wheeling out a gurney covered with a bloody white sheet. There's also blood splatters on the wall when he heads inside the store.

The director decided these scenes jarred with the overall tone, and since they weren’t essential plotwise they wouldn’t be missed.
