John Landis’ horror comedy has plenty of memorable moments, not least of which is the amazing werewolf transformation scene. The film has a surprising amount of heart too, as the unlucky lead has to struggle with his inner beast.

After his first transformation, he goes on a bit of a bloody rampage through London, and we see him attack a young couple and a man on the Tube. We also see him about to attack a group of homeless men, but it cuts away before we see what happens. This was a conscious decision on Landis’ part since his first cut showed the luckless group being slaughtered.

A test audience were so shaken by the violence of this they started talking amongst themselves and missed the next few minutes. Landis decided to nix the offending sequence, though we later see David confronted by the group in the porn theatre near the end of the film.
