8. Ghostface - Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back
Scream 3 from the year 2000 featured a small cameo from beloved comedy characters Jay and Silent Bob.
Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith turned up in these roles to pester reporter Gale Weathers whilst she was in the middle of an investigation. This wasn't the first time that Smith's View Askewniverse had featured in the Scream films, as a copy of Clerks can be spotted in the original film from 1996.
One year after Scream 3, Smith called up his old pal Wes Craven and got him to return the favour.
In 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, the titular pair end up on an adventure in Hollywood. In the process, they stumble across the set of the (at this point) fictional Scream 4 and encounter Ghostface himself.
In a scene for the fake movie featuring actor Shannen Doherty, Ghostface gets taken out and is revealed to be... an orangutan. Sure, why not.
Cut to Doherty arguing with Craven himself about the direction of the project, and you have yourself a nice little who's who of horror royalty.
No news on whether the ape was ever in any horrors. We're looking into it.
