Another one who fell victim to the second-movie curse is Paxton, our one brave survivor of Hostel’s terrors. Paxton doesn’t escape alone initially, he has Kana with him. However, when she sees her own messed up face she decides life isn’t worth living anymore if you’re gonna be ugly, am I right ladies?

This leaves Paxton as our only successful escapee, riding into the distance on a train. He was unable to escape his past however, because nothing can ever be that easy in horror movies.

He lives for a while with his girlfriend, we find at the beginning of the second film. She is getting real sick of his ‘oh woe is me I was almost murdered’ schtick, so the problem solves itself for her when she later finds his decapitated corpse in the house!

His head gets shipped off to be kept as a trophy by the Elite Hunting organisation, which seems stupid anyway because he kind of beat their whole programme? It seems like a cop-out to kill him after his escape and still claim him as a success, but whatever. These people are not known for their logic.
