10 Horror Characters We ALL Foolishly Thought Had Got Away
6. Chrissie - Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
Now a car may have been a saving grace in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but in this entry to the franchise it is a vehicle (ha ha) for one of the most brutal kills. It’s brutal not just because of its gory nature, but because we were led to believe that the victim really was going to make it out alive!
Toward the end of the film, Chrissie appears to be our final girl. Her boyfriend and two friends, as well as the biker’s boyfriend she befriended, have all been gruesomely killed - her boyfriend’s face is literally being worn as a mask.
After escaping the slaughterhouse where her final companion is killed, she is able to get into a car and start driving to safety. She doesn’t realise though that she is not alone. Only when she begins to pull over for a state trooper does Leatherface appear in the back seat, going on to butcher her with a chainsaw in classic fashion.
It’s a good surprise to be fair, as for a while there we were totally fooled.
