10 Horror Characters We ALL Foolishly Thought Had Got Away

8. Becky - Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

People don’t change, least of all serial killers. If you’ve got a guy that’s willing to murder men, women and children indiscriminately for years, the chances of him completely changing his outlook on life and its value just for special little you are very slim.

Becky chose not to think about this though when she declared her love for Henry, the serial killer in this portrait.

After a somewhat horrifying first hour or so, of our three main characters (Becky, her brother Otis and our titular killer) only two remain. Henry murders Otis after catching him assaulting Becky, chopping up his body and dissolving it in the bathtub.

At this point we could be forgiven for thinking that Henry really had formed a protective bond with Becky, especially given his feelings toward sexual violence in wake of his traumatising childhood. The two of them drive off together, and for a second it looks like that’s how we’ll finish the movie.

Unfortunately, no. Instead of ending there we see the next morning as Henry leaves their motel room alone, dumping Becky’s bloodied suitcase on the side of the road and leaving without a second thought. It’s pretty rough as far as endings go.
