Like its predecessor, The Slumber Party Massacre II is a cheap slasher movie directed by a woman, and because both films feature a mostly female cast running away from a male killer armed with an oversized, intentionally phallic drill, commentators have labelled them feminist. Remember that, fellas, and itll help assuage any pangs of guilt you might feel when our heroines have topless pillow fights, stage a bikini car wash or lounge around in their undergarments. Its hard to glean any feminist sensibilities from writer/director Deborah Brocks credits as Production Manager on Barbarian Queen or Producer on the Brian Bosworth vehicle One Tough Bastard, but if the critics say shes a feminist then shes a feminist. If nothing else, Slumber Party Massacre II lends itself to a great drinking game. Knock it back every time: 1) Someone has a dream/hallucination; or 2) Characters parade around in their underwear. With so little else going on, youll be lucky to last the running time.
