10 Horror Films You Didn't Know Were Being Remade
7. Magic
Sam Raimi started off his career in horror movies with the Evil Dead trilogy and would reach mainstream success for his work on Spider-Man and its sequels. Though he only recently returned to the directing chair with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Raimi is set to return to the genre where it all began.
The famous director has set his sights on the remake of 1978's Magic, which will be his first horror film since 2008's Drag Me To Hell. The original was an adaptation of a William Goldman novel and told the story of a ventriloquist who becomes tormented by his dummy. The movie was directed by Richard Attenborough, starred Anthony Hopkins, and received a following among horror aficionados with Raimi, himself, being a huge fan of the picture.
Though it's early to tell how the film will turn out, many movie buffs are excited at the prospect of Sam Raimi returning to his genre roots. If his entire career has proven anything, the remake will definitely showcase Sam's trademark style and not just be a soulless cash grab.
