South Korean film Train to Busan was released in 2016 and was a huge hit all around the world. It told the story of a father protecting his daughter inside a train during a zombie outbreak. The movie was well received for its well acted drama and thrilling sequences, and even spawned an animated prequel and the sequel Peninsula.

Naturally, like all popular Asian horror flicks, Hollywood has decided to capitalize on its success with the upcoming The Last Train To New York.

The project will be produced by James Wan's production company, Atomic Monster, and will be directed by Timo Tjahjanto, who is responsible for films like The Night Comes For Us and V/H/S/94. Though slated for a 2023 release, The Last Train To New York's slot was removed - with no announcement when it will come out.

While the quality of the movie is yet to be determined, it does continue the debate on whether or not Hollywood remakes are necessary. If these films are good enough on their own, then what's the point of making a new version, aside from a language barrier for some?
