Nosferatu is the classic 1922 horror movie which was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. The film shaped cinema for future generations and is highly influential even today. Due to its revered status, the idea of a remake is sacrilege to many.

Thankfully, a talented director is tackling the remake of Nosferatu, which has made fans excited rather than angered. Said director is Robert Eggers who announced his plans in 2015 and is known for his work on The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman.

Initially planned as his second film, Eggers opted to do other projects, but years after his announcement, he is finally pushing through with Nosferatu. Though Anya Taylor Joy and Harry Styles dropped out of the picture in 2022, Bill Skarsgard will take on the title role with Lily Rose Depp co-starring.

Had it been anyone else at the helm, the prospect of remaking the tale of Count Orlok might seem like an obvious dud. Thankfully, a revered director like Robert Eggers is doing this new version of Nosferatu, which will surely please fans of the original while bringing in a new audience.
