10 Horror Franchises That Need A Revival

8. Final Destination

Compared to most of the franchises on this list, the Final Destination series is in relatively decent shape, if only because its worst crime is lazily rehashing the same idea over and over again. It never really got too silly with its own mythology, and it helped immeasurably that its tongue was always lodged firmly in its cheek.

From 2000 to 2011, the series released five movies to mixed reviews yet considerable box office success, but following the release of Final Destination 5 - which scored the best reviews of the series and was the second most-profitable of the five movies - Warner Bros. oddly opted to halt production on further sequels.

While the fifth film did admittedly give the series a neat, circuitous finale, the concept of death killing people in a host of elaborate, grisly ways has far more potential in the hands of the right filmmakers.

If nothing else, Warner Bros. should just repackage it for a new generation, especially as the length of time since the last movie will soon surpass the original production timeline of all five movies.
