10 Horror Monsters That Became The Star Of The Show

Michael Myers

He’s not supernatural, he’s not wisecracking, not elegant or charming. He’s little more than a bitter and twisted old codger with a warped philosophy on the value of life. He may lack those lofty traits, but his work speaks for itself.

Unique among monsters of horror in that his goal isn’t to kill his victims, rather, through allowing them the opportunity to survive, he wants to enrich their lives. His convoluted motives perhaps make him one the most menacing horror villains of all time. It also makes him all the more real, in that to him, he’s the good guy, he’s trying to help his victims.

While his demeanour is down to earth, John Kramer’s methods are delightfully over the top. His demented Rube Goldberg style machines of death keep audiences captivated and keep us asking ourselves, what would we do?

Added to all that, his ability to delay certain death and survive sequel after sequel makes him a star. He doesn’t do this by any supernatural means, but via the most complex movie timeline ever, we’re talking movies within movies, flashbacks and so many twists and turns that the trajectory of the franchise itself self plays out like a saw torture maze.
