George A. Romero's 1968 Night of the Living Dead is a movie with an iconic opening and an iconic closing scene.

That opening sees Barbra (Judith O'Dea) and her d**khead brother Johnny visiting their father's grave. When a shuffling undead figure stumbles into shot, Johnny ends up dead and Barbra is forced to flee for safety. Taking shelter in a nearby farmhouse, Barbra joins strangers Ben, Harry and a few others. Sadly, everybody ends up dead by the time this hugely influential movie rolls to a close - with the famed ending seeing sole survivor Ben mistaken for a "ghoul" and shot dead.

When Romero decided to pen a Tom Savini-directed remake in 1990, the meat of the redo followed a similar route as the original. One major change, though, was the fate of Patricia Tallman's Barbra - or Barbara, as it was now spelt.

Here, Barbara manages to survive the movie, having opted to exit the farmhouse and try to find help. After finding solace with some locals, we find Barbara wake up the following day to a media storm as the she ends this Night of the Living Dead remake alive and well.
