10 Horror Movie Characters Who Died (But Survived The Remake)

6. Norma Watson - Carrie

Martyrs Lucie
Red Banks Films/MGM

Played by genre fave PJ Soles, Norma Watson of Brian De Palma's Carrie is a bullying, ruthless prick who is forever looking for new ways to torment her classmates - in particular, Sissy Spacek's titular Miss White.

Tied at the hip with fellow b*tch Chris Hargensen, Norma was pivotal in pulling off the final act prank that left Carrie covered in pig's blood and sent Spacek's character into a clinical, telekinetic rampage of revenge. Like Chris and pretty much anyone not named Sue Snell, Norma is one of the many left dead after Carrie snapped.

For the 2002 version of Carrie, the character of Norma was vastly different, and thus had a vastly different fate.

Played by Meghan Black, this take on the character was the senior class president who was generally very positive and friendly towards all of her classmates. Rather than being friends with Chris, she even finds herself on the receiving end of Chris' mocking and teasing.

Here, Norma is more sympathetic towards Carrie, and she ends up surviving the events of the film by escaping the prom night massacre thanks to finding a well-placed vent that allowed her to avoid White's wrath.

As for the 2013 Chloƫ Grace Moretz-fronted Carrie, Norma is a character entirely absent in that movie.
