Jeepers Creepers' brilliant opening sequence gives way to the spectacularly stupid moment where Darry (Justin Long) convinces his sister Trish (Gina Philips) to drive back to the abandoned church, where moments earlier they saw their assailant seemingly dumping dead bodies down a chute.

Trish quite sensibly admonishes her kid brother for suggesting they go back to check for survivors, telling him they should keep driving until they find a phone, before adding that "this is why girls are smarter."

But Darry won't let it go, implying that Trish is selfish and guilt-tripping her with the question - "What if it was you back there?"

And so, despite clearly appreciating the riskiness of antagonising the person - or rather, thing - which just ran them off the road, Trish reluctantly returns to the church with her bro in tow.

From here things go predictably wrong, and while Trish herself survives her encounter with the Creeper, Darry isn't quite so lucky, with the final scene revealing that the Creeper killed and mutilated him.
