10 Horror Movie Characters Who Repeatedly Made The Wrong Decisions

Cult classic Stephen King-penned anthology film Creepshow features the short story "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill," in which King himself has a whale of a time playing the titular hillbilly yokel.

Despite its brief runtime, the short contains a festival of terrible decisions on Jordy's part, and it all begins when he sees a meteorite crash-land on his farm.

Rather than alert the authorities or at least err on the side of caution, Jordy immediately attempts to touch the meteorite, burning his fingers in the process. And from here it just goes from bad to worse.

In an attempt to cool it down, he then pours water on it, which only causes it to crack open and spill a strange blue liquid. While trying to glue the meteor back together, Jordy carelessly spills the blue liquid on both the soil and himself, causing grass to start growing on his skin where the liquid was spilled. Oh, but because he's too scared to go to the doctor, he decides against it, even as the grass grows all over his body, anything he's touched in his house, and all over the farm itself.

Once Jordy's entire body is overcome with the grass and the itching becomes unbearable, he resolves to shoot himself in the head, but that's far from the end of the matter. It's then implied that heavy rain will speed up the grass' growth across the surrounding area and, presumably, eventually the entire world.

Jordy didn't just repeatedly make the wrong decision - he literally didn't make a single good one.
