10 Horror Movie Characters You Couldn't Wait To See Die

1. Mrs. Carmody - The Mist

Stephen King may fall back on the "evil bloodsucking Christian" stereotype a lot, but when it works, it's downright chilling. And the best example of that, by far, is Mrs. Carmody in The Mist.

Almost immediately actress Mardia Gay Harden portrays her as one of the most unpleasant presences in existence, even before we're shown what she's truly capable of. When things start going crazy, however, that's when Carmody shows her true colors. Carmody quickly yanks out her bible to assert herself as the supermarket's personal Jim Jones, as the protagonist so eloquently puts it.

While written off at first, as things get worse, Carmody's followers only grow in size. Until our heroes have to fight their way out of the market while Carmody screams for them to be butchered to appease the beasts outside.

Fortunately, this film comes equipped with a handy dandy Toby Jones, and his best buddy Mr. Revolver. Carmody is cut off mid rant by a bullet to the chest, falling unceremoniously to the ground. I assume the film cut the music when she died so that the audience could more clearly cheer at this cult leader's demise.
