10 Horror Movie Cliffhangers Nobody Cared About

Shane Black's The Predator is one of the most disappointing movies of the last five years - a chaotic mess of an attempt to re-shape the sci-fi horror series into an action blockbuster mould.

And this was made no more infuriatingly apparent than in its sequel-baiting final scene, where it's revealed that one of the Predators left behind a piece of technology dubbed the "Predator killer," with the capability of helping the humans stand a chance against an impending Predator invasion.

The tech turns out to be an Iron Man-esque armoured suit, complete with a comically over-the-top arsenal of weaponry, which protagonist Quinn (Boyd Holbrook) evidently looks forward to trying out.

Even if you can forgive how utterly impossible it is to take the suit itself seriously, did any fans of the original Predator really want to see a sequel where humans in CGI-slathered battle armour fight Predator hordes?

Coming at the end of a woefully underwhelming film, this was the rotten icing on the cake, in turn obliterating what little hope remained for a follow-up.

With The Predator bombing at the box office, Fox smartly decided to go back to the drawing board and last summer released prequel Prey, a lower-budget, more stripped-down action-horror film which was widely praised by critics and fans alike.
