10 Horror Movie Deaths That Came Out Of Nowhere

7. Don't Look Now - John Baxter

The whole of Don't Look Now is one big long head trip, with Nicolas Roeg's trippy rumination on grief after a couple lose their daughter in a freak drowning accident. Travelling to Venice for a commission job in restoring a church, John and Laura make the worst possible decision to set up shack in a city that's made up of mostly water, seeing visions of their daughter Christine between the streets in her distinctive red raincoat.

When it comes to the end of the movie however, it's revealed that it isn't Christine running round like an antisocial hoodie at all - but rather a murderous dwarf. Yes. Upon John's discovery of her, she slashes his throat and leaves him to bleed out, with all the signs that he'd picked up throughout the movie culminating in what was a warning of this very demise.

Really, his death didn't come out of nowhere at all once you learn this. Yet upon first watching of the movie, it's impossible not to be blindsided with the crazy slasher diversion it takes in the closing moments.
