10 Horror Movie Deaths That Could Have Been Avoided

1. Almost Every Single Character – The Saw Franchise

Those of you with a keen eye were probably wondering where Saw was going to end up on this list. It would’ve been totally blasphemy to not even mention the Saw movies, but the more I thought about it, the more I found myself agreeing with John Kramer and thinking that “yes! Actually, if I needed to cut open my eyeball in order to get a key to remove a death trap from around my head, sure! I can do it!”

These movies put so much emphasis on the will to survive that even just watching one of them makes you want to prove to yourself that you could survive one of Jigsaw’s twisted traps. For the sake of continuity, we’re going to discount Amanda and occasionally Detective Hoffman from this list, as they had traps made with the intent of nobody being able to escape them, and therefore condemned every victim to death.

But jigsaw’s semi-understandable madness behind his philosophy does kind of mean that every single one of his victims could have survived. Jigsaw always provided a way out, and 9 times out of 10 that was simply just listening to whatever he had to say, and then following those instructions. If a serial killer was literally telling you what to do in order to survive, surely you would listen to them, right?
