A little footage from this one has survived, as seen in the thumbnail here, but that's about as much as viewers are likely to ever see lest some heroic editor crop up some time in the coming decades.

Friday the 13th Part 3D was the third entry into mute murderer extraordinaire Jason Voorhees’ iconic slasher franchise, and it's infamously the film which solidified the villain as the masked, machete-wielding monster that viewers now know and love.

Yes, he wears a bag over his head in the second film. No, it's not good.

This flick, however, is a solid instalment, even if the hokey gimmick effects are dated.

But the film almost had a demented dream sequence ending which saw final girl Chris lounging in a canoe on the same lake as the first film’s heroine, then returning to the cottage to be reunited with her friend—only for old Jason, unmasked and angry, to leap out and lop her head off halfway there.

Of course, the studio insisted on something less dark and surreal, as always.
