Ask horror fans to name their number one movie douchebag of all time, and they without fail choose Travis Van Winkle's turn as Trent Sutton in 2009's Friday the 13th.
The horror remakes in the 2000s all seemed to share one trait - characters that were poorly written and often came off as annoying and unlikable. However, it is without question that Trent Sutton of Friday the 13th is king among the bunch.
Whatever negative aspect you ascribe to form a truly hateful character, Trent has them all. He's rude, he's spoiled, he's condescending and whiny. However, Trent's most galling moment comes when he elects to cheat on his girlfriend Jenna, and ignore her frantic warnings that there is a maniac stalking the woods outside.
With a constant cocky strut, his disastrous need to forcibly take charge and his eventual cowardice, Trent's death is a blessed relief. However, one can't help but feel a little disappointed that the fate Jason bestows just isn't gruesome enough for the arrogant, cheating know-it-all...
