10 Horror Movie Franchises That Never Seem To End

9. Saw

Saw, the plucky independent film that launched the careers of both James Wan and Leigh Whannell into the stratosphere, was a contained horror masterpiece. It's killer score, and terrific twist imprinted itself into all of our minds, ensuring we'd never forget it. Or maybe it was the fact the franchise never seemed to end.

Between 2004 and 2010 there was actually a brand new Saw film released every single year, despite the fact that series antagonist John Kramer was killed off in Saw 3. Though the series originally ended in 2010 with the seventh film Saw: The Final Chapter, it only laid dormant for seven years before another entry was squeezed out titled Jigsaw.

If certain important events hadn't taken place in 2020 that have largely stopped film production, we would have also had the Chris Rock starring Spiral: From the Book of Saw, but for now the Saw franchise will continue on into 2021 at the very least. That's nine Saw films in seveteen years, which is a lot of brutal of deaths.
