7. Bert - Cabin Fever

Many a horror film has at least one character that's an obnoxious jackass through and through. And in Eli Roth's Cabin Fever, Bert fits the bill to a tee.

Because he hunts squirrels and makes dated jokes at any given opportunity, you might wonder how this guy can qualify as a hero.

But since he's the only one with the common sense to leave the woods after he learns its inhabitants are infected with a flesh-eating virus, you have to give him some credit. He's also the only member of his party to ask for help and seek out a hospital for his friends.

However, that doesn't change the fact Bert is mostly responsible for the virus getting out of hand. After he comes in contact with an infected hermit, Bert runs away. Unfortunately, this compels the hermit to track Bert down, allowing him to infect his friends.

When Bert warns a shop owner about the virus, they alert the police, who then gun down his friends. Even though Bert often acts before thinking, he causes more damage every time he tries to be sensible and helpful.
