10 Horror Movie Heroes Who Made Everything Worse

3. Tommy Jarvis - Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

After Tommy Jarvis killed Jason Voorhees in the falsely advertised Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, it looked like the hockey mask-wielding maniac was dead for good.

But in the sequel, A New Beginning, Tommy learns there's a masked madman slaughtering people in the area, in a manner eerily similar to Jason. When Jarvis is confronted by the killer during the climax, he realises it's a mere copycat, reaffirming Jason is truly dead.

However, Tommy still refuses to believe that Jason really is deceased. In the following sequel, appropriately named Jason Lives, Tommy drives to Jason's grave, hoping to cremate his remains. After opening the casket and looking upon Voorhees' worm-eaten, maggot-infested body, Tommy should accept his tormentor can no longer hurt him.

Instead, Jarvis impales the rotting corpse with a fence post. After the post is struck by lightning, Jason is revived into a superstrong, unkillable revenant. Terrified out of his mind, Tommy runs off to warn the residents that Crystal Lake's most prominent killer has risen from his grave.

Although Tommy is the film's hero, you can't help getting angry with him. Not only did he go out of his way to resurrect Jason, he made the machete-wielding lunatic more powerful than ever. If Tommy did nothing, hundreds of innocent civilians would've avoided Jason's murder-spree for years to come.
