10 Horror Movie “Mistakes” That Were Totally Intentional

4. Marion's Visible Bra - Psycho (1998)

In Gus Van Sant's hilariously unnecessary 1998 remake of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, there's an apparent gaffe shortly after Norman Bates (Vince Vaughn) kills Marion Crane (Anne Heche) in the shower.

Norman wraps Marion's corpse in the plastic shower curtain and then transports her to his car in order to dispose of her body, but keep an eye out and you might briefly spot Marion's white bra strap being visible through the shower curtain.

Given that Marion was obviously showering in the nude, there's no reason why she'd be wearing a bra now. Norman may be a weird one, but he didn't kill Marion and then put her bra back on her body, right?

It might seem like a cut-and-dried case of filmmaker error, but this wasn't actually a screw-up on Van Sant's part at all - the mistake originated from Hitchcock's original film, and in his (arguably misguided) attempt to remake Psycho shot-for-shot, Van Sant deliberately recreated the error.
