Ice Spiders revolves around a group of Winter Olympic contenders staying at a ski resort to focus on their training. Their plans are jeopardised when mutant spiders break out of a nearby experimental facility and go on a killing spree.

Because of how preposterous the premise is, you'd assume all the characters in Ice Spiders would be equally over-the-top. However, the cast deliver all their lines so seriously, you wonder if they thought they were making a genuine horror flick rather than a spoof.

This makes every scene feel jarring since these actors speak matter-of-factly while being attacked by the fakest -looking spiders in movie history. I mean, the special effects for the spiders in Eight Legged Freaks weren't great but they look photorealistic compared the CGI here.

These arachnids are so badly rendered, they looked like they were taken from a PlayStation One game. Speaking of video games, the spiders' snarl is lifted directly from Bowser from Mario Kart 64... That's not a joke. Despite the fact none of the jokes land, there's a lot to laugh at here, even though it's not intentional.
