10 Horror Movie Parties We Wouldn't Want To Be Invited To

8. Slumber Party - The Slumber Party Massacre (1982)

The Slumber Party Massacre
New World Pictures

Uninvited party guests are a hassle, as the tormented protagonist of this movie knows well. Trish Deveraux decides to be adventurous when left home alone, so she throws a slumber party for the gals of the basketball team. Pot, pizza and gratuitous nudity are the ingredients for the perfect evening. However, a deranged mass murderer named Russ Thorn (badass!) has escaped from prison and is slowly making his way to the festivities.

A rare black pearl in the horror movie jewelry box, The Slumber Party Massacre is now considered a certified cult classic due to its influence and importance in the wider acceptance of the slasher genre. It also featured one of the few examples of slasher villains who didn't wear a mask or potato sack over their faces. A villain in the infamous shape of Russ Thorn (so badass!). This maniac had a particular taste for finishing off his victims with tools that your dad would probably keep in the garage. A massive power drill being his favorite.

Slumber parties are always fun, a chance to tighten the bond between close friends. That is until a psycho makes a triumphal entrance and brings the rain down on your parade.
