The Saw films are not everybody's cup of tea. In fact, a cup of tea would not be advised during the watching of these films as you'll most like throw it back up again immediately.
However, it is impossible to deny their popularity. The nine Saw movies have made over a billion dollars worldwide at the box office, and one of the most profitable films in the franchise is its first sequel.
Actioned almost immediately after the first picture's success, Saw II is once again all about the Jigsaw Killer and his depraved set of games. Highlights this time include a key buried in a pile of syringes, a box filled with hidden blades, a nerve agent that will kill everyone unless they solve all the puzzles within two hours. Wholesome fun for all!
The scale of the sadism is definitely upped from the first Saw as the sequel features way more victims than the previous movie. Audiences also have an insight into Jigsaw's mind now, which somehow makes him seem even more deranged than before.
Again, it's not for everyone, but if you're partial to a psychotic gore-fest every once in a while, then you can't do much better than Saw II.
