10 Horror Movie Sequels That Should Have Ended Their Series

5. Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter

Saw 3

This one goes without saying, but not mentioning it would be a major disservice to how great this film actually is.

Indisputably the king of the 80's slasher craze, the Friday the 13th series has endured in ways others have not. With its first four films often being singled out as some of the finest slices of slasher cinema to ever be put to film, these low-budget productions were surprisingly slick for their time and helped to map out the clichés for years to come. However, the absolute best of the bunch is Part IV: The Final Chapter.

Taking all the finest elements from the previous three films, The Final Chapter remains the quintessential Jason movie and one that few other slasher films have ever come close to topping.

Granted, if the series had ended here, we wouldn't have been blessed with Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, which depending on who you ask, is the best film in the series, but had the producers been content with the mountains of cash the first four installments had made, the Friday the 13th quadrilogy would no doubt be looked back on as one of the most consistently brilliant slasher series out there.
