When Evil Lurks is one of the most acclaimed horror films of the last few years - a refreshingly nasty and uniquely haunting supernatural horror which was unafraid to take the audience to some bold places.
Despite the film's tantalising mythology and how it became a buzzy word-of-mouth hit on social media, most likely expected it to be a one-and-done affair. And yet, mere days ago filmmaker Demián Rugna confirmed that a sequel is indeed now in deep development.
In a recent interview, Rugna revealed that the script for When Evil Lurks 2 has already been written, and he's simply waiting for funding to come through so that production can ramp up in earnest.
While hardly the most expected horror sequel announcement, Rugna confirmed himself to be one of the most unique horror filmmaking voices working today with the first film, and so it's tough not to be excited about whatever gnarly bleakness he cooks up with the second movie.
