10 Horror Movie Sequels You Probably Didn't Know Existed

7. The Birds II: Land's End

I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
Universal Pictures

Well, you can't help but admire the tenacity to make a sequel to an Alfred Hitchcock classic a whopping thirty-one years after the original film. In 1963, Alfred Hitchcock did what no modern filmmaker could do, release a serious film about killer birds that was effective. If it were attempted today it would likely be a Syfy film in the same vein as Sharknado. Birdnami anyone?

Well for reasons that we all would love to know, a made-for-television sequel was made, and released, and even starred original actress Tippi Hedren in an unrelated cameo to her original role. In the completely original, never been done before story, a family move to a small island for the summer to escape the memory of a family tragedy. Unfortunately their grieving will have to wait, because there be some killer gulls in the sky.

Director Rick Rosenthal released the film under the pseudonym Alan Smithee, a name used by directors to disown the film they've made, which will go someway into helping us understand why you've never heard of this film.
