10 Horror Movie Tropes That Prove "If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It"

6. The End... Or Is It?

This ending trope involves the final shot of a film where the antagonist has been seemingly killed. The shot in question will reveal that the villain may actually still be alive.

It will be common with this trope for the movie villain to be stopped or outright "killed" in a way that is seemingly impossible to survive, and yet, somehow they manage to do so.

Usually, "The End... Or Is It?" is a way for film-makers to set-up the premise for a sequel, or more often than not, a franchise of films.

Trope Examples: Aliens (1986), The Ring (2002), Halloween (1978), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
