10 Horror Movie Twists That Pissed Everyone Off

7. Will Benson = Ben's Son - I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

*Sigh*

I Know What You Did Last Summer is actually a pretty decent slasher sequel for the most part. But that twist? Yikes.

In this 1998 picture, Jennifer Love Hewitt's Julie James wins a Bahamas trip for her and three pals. Unfortunately, not just do Julie and co. have a torrential thunderstorm to deal with, but the hook-wielding Ben Willis of the prior movie is around to cause chaos and carnage during this trip.

Ben conveniently crashing Julie's vacation isn't particularly any sort of twist here, but instead the shocker of the film revolves around Julie's pal Will. Teased as a love interest for Hewitt's character, Ben would pull off a good ol' heel turn - hey, wrestling fans! - with a final act reveal that he was the son of Ben Willis.

It was how ham-fisted this twist was that rubbed horror hounds the wrong way. We had it spelt out for us that Will Benson was Will, the son of Ben. Will Benson... Ben son... Ben's son. Geddit, geddit?! With that, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer chose to slap its audience across the face, and screenwriter Trey Callaway likely proudly watched on at the piece of 'genius' he'd served up.
