10 Horror Movie Villains KILLED Before The End

7. Spence - Resident Evil (2002)

The big twist in Paul W.S. Anderson's original Resident Evil film is that Alice's (Milla Jovovich) partner Spence (James Purefoy) was actually responsible for releasing the T-virus in the Umbrella Corporation's Hive facility, all in an attempt to smuggle a sample of the virus out and sell it on the black market.

Basically, Spence is the movie's loose version of game villain Albert Wesker - the overarching human Big Bad whose nefarious act threatens the lives of, well, everyone.

So, while you might assume that Spence would live to fight another day, or in the very least be dispatched at the tail-end of the story, he's instead killed by a Licker while trying to flee the Hive more than 20 minutes before the end of the film.

For good measure, Alice then stumbles across his reanimated corpse while boarding the Umbrella train and promptly hacks him up with an axe. After this, Alice and the other survivors are left to face off against the Licker who infected Spence on the train, in what's clearly an homage to the second game's locomotive-set finale.
