10 Horror Movie Villains Killed By Characters Nobody Expected

Before he was torturing terrorists for the entertainment of millions in 24, Kiefer Sutherland was a sexy vampire in The Lost Boys, a cult horror favourite from 1987. 

Sutherland’s character, David, is part of a gang of vamps led by Max, played by Edward Herrmann. Max has his sights set on Lucy West, whom he wants to convert and make the mother of his tribe. He seduces her and, in the film’s final scene, it looks like Max is about to give her the ol’ neck bite, when something happens completely out of nowhere.

A truck smashes through the wall of the house, ramming Max into the wall and impaling him on a large wooden post. Who should be behind the wheel but none other than Lucy’s kindly old dad, played by Barnard Hughes.

Lucy's father awesomely reveals that he knew what was going on all along when he says “One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the damn vampires.”

That's one badass old man.
