10 Horror Movie Villains So Dumb They Deserved To Fail

Beyond the Black Rainbow is an extremely cool movie if you can get on its slow, trippy wavelength, even accepting that the psychopathic villain, Dr. Barry Nyle (Michael Rogers), dies a hilarious idiot's death.

In the climax, Nyle chases down protagonist Elena (Eva Allan) and orders her to come to him.

When she refuses, he grows increasingly incensed, attempting to move towards her, even while his foot remains stuck on the ground - seemingly held there by Elena's psychic abilities.

Nyle keeps trying to move regardless, resulting in him tripping over and falling onto a rock, causing his instant death from a massive head injury.

Within the context of the story and its characters it's a fitting death, albeit one that nevertheless makes Nyle look careless and stupid.

It's so rare to see a villain die such a seemingly mundane, anti-climactic death, even if it involved some sly psychic intervention from his target.
