3. Dimitri - Revenge
Revenge is one of the most distinctive and memorable rape-revenge films in recent years, as a young woman, Jen (Matilda Lutz), attempts to track down and kill the three men who raped and left her for dead in the middle of nowhere.
One of the trio is Dimitri (Guillaume Bouchède), who gets infuriatingly close to actually winning and killing Jen, but his own misplaced hubris - and underestimation of the petite, apparently vulnerable Jen - becomes his undoing.
In the middle of the night, Jen sneaks up on Dimitri alone and takes his gun, but he quickly turns the tables, knocking her down and dragging her into the nearby river to drown her.
But rather than simply hold Jen's head underwater until dead, he repeatedly pulls her out of the water to talk trash, giving her time to reach for his knife and stab him in the eye, killing him.
He was literally seconds away from killing Jen and being done with the whole situation, but because he just had to do some evil monologuing along the way, he gave Jen an opening to fight back and catch him unawares.
Granted, these guys all absolutely deserved to fail regardless through the sheer heinousness of their acts, but the stupidity is just the icing on the cake.
