10 Horror Movie Villains Who Actually Won

6. The Firefly Family - House Of 1000 Corpses

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Lionsgate

This is another case of no survival: the baddies win by getting to carry out their deranged plans and completing another round of murder with no survivors to tell the tale.

This was Rob Zombie’s feature directorial debut and he decided straight away that he wasn’t going to pull any punches. In classic horror fashion we start with a group of friends travelling across the countryside, this particular group doing so as research for their book on weird roadside attractions (which in itself is a bit weird).

When you set out to find weird roadside attractions you’re pretty much guaranteed to find something dodgy, and unsurprisingly that’s what the group finds. They find the Fireflies - and nobody wants to find them.

Of course each of them is brutally killed throughout the runtime of the film, the final girl meeting her grisly end on the operating table of Dr Satan. W for the Fireflies, L for the roadside attraction literature community.
