10 Horror Movie Villains Who Encountered Something Worse

Lucky McKee's The Woman is centered around a lawyer, Chris Cleek (Sean Bridgers), who stumbles across the titular feral Woman (Pollyanna McIntosh) while out hunting and decides to kidnap her in an attempt to "civilise" her.

In the ensuing days, Chris inflicts brutal torture upon the woman in his deranged quest to "tame" her, which is really just an excuse for him to enact his vile misogynist fantasies.

Chris and his son Brian (Zach Rand) abuse both the woman and their own family - Chris' wife and two daughters - yet fail to appreciate that the woman isn't merely feral, she's a violent cannibal.

And so, in the third act she's finally sprung from her confinement and makes short work of the Cleek men, murdering Brian with a saw and then ripping Chris' heart out and eating it, because why the hell not?

In moral terms, Chris is clearly the real monster here, yet he didn't even remotely anticipate the possibility that the woman was capable of such grotesque, savage displays of violence.
