10 Horror Movie Villains Who Would Have Won By Doing NOTHING

8. Christine - Christine

Underworld Rise Of The Lycans Viktor
Columbia Pictures

This 1983 horror movie is about a car called Christine that comes to life and kills people. It's based on a Stephen King story and was directed by John Carpenter, which honestly makes all the sense in the world.

Geeky teen Arnie Cunningham (Keith Gordon) purchases Christine and sets about trying to fix her up. Over the course of the restoration process, Christine falls in love with her owner, granting him confidence and social skills in return.

Your typical boy-meets-car narrative, then.

As Arnie gets more and more bullish, his friend Dennis (John Stockwell) links his recent behaviour to Christine. Cue the villainous vehicle trying to kill Dennis in order to keep Arnie all to herself.

Had Christine simply let Arnie restore her like he wanted to, she would have gotten everything she ever wanted.

She'd been left for dead for several years before her new owner found her; she should have just accepted his company and enjoyed her new life under his care.

Instead, Christine got jealous and overprotective, and her murderous antics eventually led to her destruction. It's a story so emotional that you almost forget it's about a sentient car.
