10 Horror Movie Villains You Didn't Know Were Returning

9. Ghostface

Not content with finally killing Dewey Riley in 2022's Scream, Ghostface will be making a comeback in the franchise's next instalment.

But before we get to that, let's clear up a technicality.

Ghostface is not one person. He wasn't even one person in the first Scream film. Instead, he was a disguise used by both Billy Loomis and Stu Macher to go about their murder spree.

The costume has been worn but multiple famous actors over the years, including Timothy Olyphant, Emma Roberts, and Jack Quaid, but one thing has actually remained consistent about the role over its 20+ year history.

Roger L. Jackson has provided the over-the-phone voice of Ghostface for every single one of his film outings. This will include the upcoming Scream sequel, which is set for release in March 2023.

One series stalwart that won't be returning however is Neve Campbell, the actor behind original final girl Sidney Prescott. She wasn't happy with the offer the producers made her.

Will the films be the same with Sidney? Only time will tell. However, we've still got Ghostface, and that is something to be thankful for.

Unless you're one of their victims.
