10 Horror Movies About To Become TV Shows

7. The Conjuring

Another horror hit potentially making its way to Max in the future, The Conjuring franchise is also attempting to go all small-screen.

That much was confirmed last year when it was noted (via Variety) that Warner Bros. Discovery were developing a show that would continue the creepy story that had been playing out in cinemas over the last decade.

It's not really known exactly what said story would consist of, or how it could connect to the main films' tales of the Warrens investigating a number of supernatural happenings or various Annabelle and Nun spin-offs.

However, as of 2023, it had at least been confirmed that Peter Safran - who has produced all of the Conjuring entries so far, along with also being co-CEO of DC Studios - was attached to executive produce the show through his Safran Company, and James Wan - another frequent Conjuring producer who has also directed a few of the projects - was in talks to executive produce.

Two heavy hitters, right there.

It's a bit concerning that there's been no real update on this potential new Max addition for over a year now. But with the franchise bringing home an impressive $2 billion at the box office so far, it's safe to assume all involved will be doing everything in their power to bring some of that success to Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming service.

So, here's hoping fans of this paranormal world longing for more hours of spooky drama are given some new details to get excited about in the not too distant future.
