10 Horror Movies Actors Want Us To Forget

4. Lori Loughlin: Amityville 3-D (1983)

Sadly, today Lori Loughlin's name is only associated with her current jail stay. Loughlin and her husband were convicted of bribing college officials to secure a place for their children. In the age of intrusive modern media, the bad often outweighs the good, and Loughlin's impressive career in television was quickly overshadowed by her legal woes.

She was Aunt Becky on the smash hit sitcom Full House and its 2016 reboot, she was the reigning queen of television movies and serial drama in the '90s, and right up until her career derailment she continued to be a regular fixture on the small screen. But what about her big screen career? Well, that's been sparse, to say the least.

Loughlin's most infamous big screen appearance may just be her supporting role in the ridiculously cheesy Amityville 3-D. The film was quickly greenlit after the success of 1982's Amityville: The Possession, and its rushed production shows. Supernatural events that seem hilarious as opposed to terrifying plague a writer taking residence in the infamous house. A haunted house film seems tailormade for the 3D gimmick, but here it gets no more exciting than someone shoving a flashlight into the camera. The film opened opposite Sleepaway Camp and tanked at the box office.

But, what of Lori Loughlin in Amityville 3-D? She's not bad. In fact, Loughlin is one of the better performances here, believably playing a teenager caught between warring parents. She spends most of her scenes opposite a newcomer named Meg Ryan (never heard of her, have you?). Surrounded by ridiculously over-the-top performances by Tony Roberts and Candy Clark, Loughlin's restrained, nice-girl charm is a welcome change of pace. Given the fact this film was the launching pad for two sizable stars, it seems a shame neither has ever addressed it, but it is understandable given the quality of the final product.

Perhaps speaking of Amityville 3-D is a fate worse than jail time?
