10 Horror Movies Audiences Walked Out Of

4. The Exorcist

A classic like no other, The Exorcist is renowned for being one of the horrors of all horror, and still to this day is able to evoke fear in its audiences the same way it did on the day of its release in 1973.

Admittedly, horror has changed and become more outlandish than ever since this film first hit the big screens, and may even appear tame to some in comparison to the likes of others on this list such as Titane. Yet, at the time when arguably the scariest films to be seen by Western audiences would have been the likes of Psycho (1960) or Rosemary's Baby (1968), it's no wonder that people walked out of screenings of this masterpiece!

Full of biblical horror and possession, the film has some moments of true gore and SFX which may just have been too much for some to stomach. From the vomit-filled makeup of young girl Regan, all the way to the death of biblical men and a demon seemingly winning the battle, those who walked out of this movie can be empathised with ever so slightly!
